The project researches and develops theoretical and practical approaches for social and cultural innovations in the context of structural change in Lusatia.
The structural change in Lusatia, which is aimed at the sustainable development of the region, has so far concentrated primarily on technological and ecological innovations. Without the inclusion of social and cultural innovations, however, imbalances arise which manifest themselves as "demographic problems" (emigration of young, educated people, shortage of skilled workers, etc.).
The project therefore examines regional approaches for new models of civil society organization and participation, such as those developing in the "Lusatian Civic Region". In addition, the project also explores practical approaches to a meta-modern culture in Lusatia and its impact in entrepreneurial and demographic terms.
In addition to the TRAWOS Institute of the HSZG (Dr. Maik Hosang, project manager), the project partners are Bündnis Zukunft Oberlausitz, Bürgerregion Lausitz and neoNET e.V.
The project is funded by the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism(SMWK).
This measure is co-financed with tax revenue on the basis of the budget approved by the members of the Saxon State Parliament.
