The ninth interdisciplinary November conference of the TRAWOS Institute in cooperation with the Office for District Development of the district of Görlitz (Saxony) dealt with the transformation of housing in rural areas on Friday, November 13, 2015 in the Via Regia Haus in Reichenbach /O.L..
More than 70 participants from science and practice in the fields of housing industry, real estate management, regional management, transformation research and local government throughout Saxony and beyond dealt with various aspects of people's changing living and housing needs in the course of social and ecological change in our society in presentations and topic-specific discussion rounds. They discussed the opportunities and challenges of demographic change and climate change in relation to development trends for individual living spaces and new living models, alternative concepts for adaptation strategies for the housing industry and local government and the necessary changes to the political and legal framework at local, state and federal level.
