This was the title of the Future Congress Oberlausitz-Oberfranken, co-initiated by our Hypertransformation research group, which took place on May 10/11, 2011 at the Theater Bautzen.
With Kurt Biedenkopf and Gerald Hüther, two personalities known for their intellectual courage set new standards with keynote speeches on the topics of "The new view of things" and "What do people need to be active as human beings?".
The central themes of the congress were the opportunities and problems of demographic change for rural regions. How can medium-sized and smaller towns and municipalities prepare themselves for current and future economic, social and cultural challenges and take advantage of the opportunities they present? How can they make better use of their diverse resources for creative economic and life achievements? What structural and entrepreneurial approaches are there for this?
