Future Congress 2018

Future congress "Quo vadis Görlitz?"

Together with the Aktionskreis für Görlitz e.V.  and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Ecological and Revitalizing Urban Redevelopment(IZS), the TRAWOS Institute for Transformation, Housing and Social Spatial Development hosted the Future Congress "Quo vadis, Görlitz?" on 16 and 17 November 2018 at the Görlitz campus of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

Participants from politics, administration, business, culture and civil society associations and organizations discussed relevant future trends and the associated opportunities for the development of the city of Görlitz and identified possible risks and necessary steps for the implementation of future-oriented and sustainable development paths.

We were supported in this by a proven scientist and practitioner of urban and regional development, Professor Manfred Miosga from the University of Bayreuth. Specializing in the long-term structural development of peripheral medium-sized towns, he opened our Future Congress with a keynote speech and accompanied its further course with his expert advice.
