Rohnstock Biografien's storytelling salon format has been in existence for over 20 years and has been funded by the Federal Commissioner for Eastern Germany since 2015. As part of this pilot phase, three major storytelling salon series have taken place in eastern Germany. The focus was particularly on structurally weak regions such as the Ore Mountains and Lusatia.
The background to this cooperation was formed by three broadly intended objectives on the part of the Federal Commissioner:
1) Making visible and preserving marginalized voices,
2) Promoting identity-building processes and a sense of community and
3) Initiating structural impulses in the course of a sustainable activation of civic engagement.
Last year, the TRAWOS Institute was commissioned to evaluate the results of this pilot phase and to critically discuss both the potential and limitations of this format in relation to the desired objectives.
After a brief and concise presentation of the results of this evaluation, we would like to discuss with you the extent to which narrative identity-building processes are suitable for initiating sustainable impulses in structurally weak regions such as Lusatia and how these can be scientifically supported.
In addition, an evening event with Katrin Rohnstock and other interesting guests is planned for 30.05.22, more details will follow shortly.
