On 15 and 16 November, the Society for Urban History and Urbanization Research (GSU) invites you to the Urban History Forum in Salzburg. Under the title "Crossing Borders", young academics will discuss the role of political, ecological and cultural borders in cities and how open they are to change and various influences.
One contribution comes from Cornelia Müller, who will discuss historical firefighting in Bautzen, Görlitz and Löbau in her lecture "Changing urban space in the event of a fire using the example of three towns in Upper Lusatia". Her research shows how different fire regulations and protective measures shaped urban space and coexistence in the towns.
