Emilia Socha studied ethnology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and worked at the Villa Decius, a cultural institution in Krakow, during her studies. As part of the ifa secondment programme, which promotes cultural, educational, youth and media projects of German minority organizations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, she worked as a cultural manager at the House of German-Polish Cooperation in Upper Silesia. During her work at the IHI Zittau/ TU-Dresden, she provided academic support for the activities of two local organizations involved in extracurricular learning. In the joint project Teaching in Transfer+, she dealt with university didactics and developed a format for the interim evaluation of courses. She was also involved in the Saxony5 project, which is located at the interface between science and society and focuses on knowledge transfer.
Since 2020, she has been working at the TRAWOS Institute of the HSZG in various projects and takes on teaching assignments in the Master Management of Social Change, as well as in the Master Culture and Management. She is currently working on the project "BePart - Participation and Partnerships in Structural Change. Penetrating social innovations in Lusatia and strengthening them in practice".
