Migration crisis?

Jan Schaller in Caritas article on the term "migration crisis"

Debates on flight and displacement are often held under the catchphrase "migration crisis", but this fails to recognize the actual problems faced by refugees and the challenges for the reception structures in Europe. It is not migration itself that is in crisis, but rather the people making the journey and the often overstretched administrative structures in the host countries. A differentiated discussion could help to find constructive solutions, such as the expansion of integration concepts or more qualified personnel in the administration.

Jan Schaller, research. In his article in the current issue of 'Migration & Integration Info' published by Caritas, Jan Schaller, research associate at TRAWOS and migration researcher, calls for a nuanced debate that keeps an eye on the bigger picture and does not forget who the actual victims are - forcibly displaced people worldwide.
