The East Saxony Mechanical Engineering Days form part of the strategic project ‘A Green Future for the Border Region’, which is being implemented as part of the Interreg Poland–Saxony 2021–2027 cooperation programme. They are organised by the East Saxony Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking Cooperation Network (TEAM 22) in collaboration with the Bautzen Technology and Start-up Centre (TGZ).
Drawing on their many years of experience, the two partners have been promoting cross-border exchange between companies and institutions since 2000. The aim is to support the establishment of new partnerships, further develop existing networks and sustainably strengthen economic cooperation in the region. In terms of content, the East Saxony Mechanical Engineering Days are aimed in particular at stakeholders from the mechanical and plant engineering sectors, as well as the metalworking industry in East Saxony and the neighbouring regions of Poland and the Czech Republic.
A key locational advantage also lies in the close links with Saxony’s automotive, electronics and energy sectors, as well as with a strong research and higher education landscape. These conditions create a favourable environment for innovation, knowledge transfer and cross-border cooperation.
