On 9 July 2026, the project partners of the Elitenmonitor 2 research consortium held a joint online working meeting. The consortium partners discussed the current status of the research work and agreed on the next steps in terms of both content and organisation. The main focus of the meeting was on:

1. Reports and discussions regarding the planned representative public survey on the under-representation of East Germans in the elites, as well as further work on the project’s elite database.
2. A consultation on participation in and co-organisation of a training and networking conference for senior judicial officials.
3. An exchange on approaches and methods in discourse and social media analysis.

In addition, issues relating to the further organisation and publicity of the project were discussed, and the key topics for the next project workshop at the end of August 2026 were finalised.
